Review of Defendor (2009) by Richard O — 27 Jul 2011
Canâ??t wait for Kick-Ass? Then give this indie dramedy a spin. Woody Harrelson stars as Arthur Poppington, a mentally challenged construction worker who fools himself and others into believing that heâ??s super badass crimefighter, Defendor.
Zombieland, The Messenger, 2012â?¦Woody is just killing it lately and heâ??s back on top form here. The film is also supported by some excellent character actors like Elias Koteas (playing a kinda evil version of his own Casey Jones), Clark Johnson (back in his Homicide Life on the Streets blues), and Michael Kelly.
The film is funny. But itâ??s not a laugh factory. There is real heart here, and Iâ??m guessing youâ??ll grow to care for Woodyâ??s Defendor. VF.
