Review of Defendor (2009) by Gaspar O — 30 Jan 2013
There are few scripts that could compare to this one; quite unusual. This ultimately get the thumbs up qualifying as dark humor. The piece is deeply saddening. I watched it expecting some outright laugh-out-loud hijinks but instead got a different taste.
Being a fan of dirty realism and even real and depressing stories this was to my taste. As the actuality of Woody Harrelson's character sets in on the viewer, you are found to stop laughing and be more sympathetic.
Much admiration to the film studio, Woody Harrelson, and the financiers that backed this.
