Review of Defending Your Life (1991) by Bruce K — 20 Jun 2009
Much of what works about the film is predicated on the belief that Al Brooks and Meryl Streep could go ga-ga over one another about five minutes into the afterlife; if you don't buy it, you won't get it.
Streep makes it go down easy and regardless, it's hard not to be enveloped in Brooks' hilarious, creative vision of life after death.
