Review of Deepwater Horizon (2016) by Shane A — 14 Oct 2016
A sluggish intro laced with quick cuts of nonsensical blue-collar banter drag the film's opening, but the intense situations of man-made peril these common people experienced is displayed in the 2nd half of the film, and it is terrifyingly real; albeit some hollywoodized drama for docu-thriller effect.
It doesn't bring peaceful closure to the families effected by the disaster, but it does provide the general public with a basic understanding of what happened, and the dark power of greed, and putting profit before people.
