Review of Deepwater Horizon (2016) by Jackson V — 31 Dec 2016
Its a disaster movie first and foremost that least into the mayhem in a believable way that doesn't feel manufactured just so you can watch shit blow up. A more mature believable film in the genre that we rarely see anymore (being based on real events helps im sure).
I guess we in enough explosions and large structures collapsing in comic book movies these days. It also give some insight into how and why it happened and the people involved. Who knows how much of it is true but it sure is well done and entertaining.
Wahlberg, Russell and Macklovitch are all perfectly cast.
