Utilising a real-life story for a drama film can sometimes be far too melodramatic or the sense of realism is lost in narrative rendering. In the case of Darkwater Horizon, the real life context is brought to the screen with respect to the people involved but also manages to recreate a setting which entertains viewers.

Director, Peter Berg has possibly made his best film yet, and this is due to the audience being immersed into an environent and situation that seems both real and immediate. Tense, taught and gripping, just how a thriller should feel.
