Review of Deep Rising (1998) by Kevin M — 12 Oct 2007
A luxury cruise ship is attacked by Great Cthulhu in one of the best B-movies there is. Lots of action, a great threat and an unshamed sense of fun about the whole thing make this a hell of a lot better than it could have been.
A pre X-Men Famke Janssen is particularly good value in this too as a jewel thief caught up in the carnage. A few low budget issues take the shine off, but that doesn't stop Stephen Sommers going all out with the monster movie premise.
Hugely enjoyable.
