A new type of disaster film. The film focuses not on the disaster, but on the people effected by it and how they deal with the threat of what's coming. The disaster sequences, although spectacular and detailed, are presented to amaze and shock the viewer, rather than to make the viewer revel in the destruction depicted.
A must watch for all disaster film fans!
