Excellent film! Much better than "Armageddon" (which came later, by the way). In the late 1990s, it was announced that in the year 2024, an asteroid would come very close to Earth. Hit the Earth? Well, only the powers that be know the answer to that one.

And after that was announced in the media, this film and then "Armageddon" were made. This is much better. Much more dealing with the human story aswell as the action, rather than just aggressive string vest Bruce Willis action in "Armageddon".

This could happen. I've been saying this for years, but no-one listens. They all think I'm mad!
