Review of Deep Blue Sea (1999) by Trevor D — 22 Oct 2009
I thought this movie was pretty cool 10 years ago. Not so much anymore.
The script writing and acting was pretty bad and the characters were pretty stereotyped. Token Black guy talked about being the Token black guy more than anything else. Token "screams a lot" girl did a heck of a lot of screaming, shaking, and uselessness, while token "strong silent girl" did a lot of staring. Then there was the token "nervous, but smart and useful" guy and the token "I'm the pack leader and the strongest person here" guy and the token "I'm in charge, but I really don't know what I'm doing" guy.
You get the idea.
The script did what it needed to to fulfill the above character outlines.
