Review of Deep Blue Sea (1999) by Lui M — 10 Oct 2013
This movie is one of my favourites, it's well acted, the visual effects a phenomenal but it's not entirely accurate, in this movie the sharks become smarter which enables them to swim backwards, sharks cannot swim backwards because they're not smart enough, due to the shape of their body it's physically impossible.
Another error is the appearance of the tiger shark released into the underwater pen, they got the stripes right but tiger sharks have long slender bodies with a blunt head, long upper tail lobe compared to the lower and distinctive oddly shaped serrated teeth, the tiger shark in this movie had a torpedo shaped body, spiked teeth and a cresant shaped tail just like a mako shark.
But other than that it's still a good movie, haven't seen it yet? Check it out.
