There are some very good directorial choices but the plot was lacking. Billy Crudup, regardless of how well he acts in this movie, plays a completely unrealistic character. Perhaps if Lucy were played by a better actress the movie would fare better but Mandy Moore is seriously lacking.
The dialogue is a bit too writer-ly as well.
