One of Woody's best written and realized films. A riff on Wild Strawberries full of insight, humour, and surrealism. It's great to see Woody play a neurotic with a twist. In this one, he's not such a nice guy.

He's a pill-poping, hard drinking, whoremonger who steals from his family for story material with little remorse. A person I saw this with complained that finally Woody Allen has an African American character and he makes her a hooker! I pointed out that her character is the smartest one in the film.

Kristie Alley steals the movie in her small role, as does Robin Williams, who remains out of focus the whole time. Consistently innovative and funny.
