Review of Deconstructing Harry (1997) by Gavin M — 07 Oct 2007
I didn't like this film the first time I saw it. I mean, Woody plays this complete jackass, and I'm not surprised no one likes him. However, upon a recent watching I have discovered the charm in this film in not necessarily paying attention to the things his character says, but the things his character does.
I also thoroughly enjoy the intertwining of the Harryâ??s short stories into the reality of what is happening in the film. Another interesting aspect is the jump cuts, which can be jarring at first, but really work with the disjointed-ness of Harryâ??s personality.
Interesting movie, not great, but worth a second chance.
