Review of Deconstructing Harry (1997) by J M — 03 Dec 2007
The most underappreciated Woody Allen film I've seen thus far. It may also be the darkest I've seen of his works (along with Husbands & Wives, though that was more dramatic), but it's devastatingly funny and pulls no punches.
I read the ending as a metaphor for Woody's own career; a man who can't function well in real life but who is brilliant and unforgettable in art.
