Review of Deconstructing Harry (1997) by Davey M — 15 Nov 2009
Like most post-80s Woody, it feels a little sloppy--there are some scenes that don't work (the first fifteen minutes or so are a little unnecessarily unpleasant, it seems to me), and some scenes that do work, but just don't seem to fit--but this is still one of Woody's better efforts from the last couple decades: very clever, with some bits about as funny as anything Allen's done, and surprisingly poignant in its second half.
Not on the same level as Allen's greatest work, but very good stuff.
