Review of Deconstructing Harry (1997) by Brian S — 10 Sep 2010
For Fans Of: Woody Allen, Dark Comedy.
Date Night: Nope.
Art Factor: High.
Fun Factor: Medium.
Emotional Factor: Low.
Intelligence Required: High.
Essential Viewing: No.
Classic Woody Allen. The script easily is in my top five for Woody. This is not a serious film, but it is seriously dark comedy. Not a beginner Allen film. I would also avoid this one on date night. I would have to say it is one of the most uncharming films I have ever seen. This fact does not take away from it in the least, but just a head's up. If you are into Woody, then this qualifies as a must-see.
