Review of Decoding Annie Parker (2014) by Amilcar A — 02 May 2014
First and foremost don't watch movies about cancer on a Friday night. Seriously, Fridays and Saturdays are supposed to be fun.
Decoding Annie Parker is not a bad movie and it's interestingly enough not the most depressing cancer movie you will ever see. It's actually hopeful and could have been interesting.
Unfortunately the movie wanders and meanders and we never really learn much about cancer, research or even why Annie Parker was so different or special (outside of her remarkable and impressive ability to spank cancer three times).
This movie is perhaps one of the rare cases when adding an extra 20 minutes to get deeper into the research and the genetics would have made it better. It didn't have to be technical or boring but it could have used some substance.
Overall not a bad flick though a terrible choice of day to watch it.
