Review of Deck the Halls (2006) by Dc F — 18 Dec 2012
With the Christmas season approaching, the time has come to watch Christmas films to get into that holiday mood. Deck the halls is a pretty good Christmas comedy starring Matthew Broderick as Steve Finch, an obsessed man who wants a perfect Christmas every year, and Danny DeVito as Buddy Hall, a new member of the neighborhood who wants to see his house from space.
When people start looking toward Buddy for Christmas advice, Steve stars to become green with envy and all out holiday war commences. I know that this film isn't really one for the history books. The script is possibly the most generic thing I've ever seen.
Also, the actresses that play as Buddy's family obviously haven't really taken many acting lessons. However, I'm still able to enjoy this film. I really love watching Broderick and DeVito go after it.
I enjoy watching this film every year, not because it's a good comedy, but the fact that it's fun to watch with the family during the most wonderful time of the year.
