Review of December Boys (2007) by Michele S — 26 May 2008
This movie, while at times beautiful, is too often off the mark to have any lasting positive effect. Question #1 right off the bat, why are these Australian boys speaking with British accents? Question #2, why does the entire film seem predictable? Perhaps I've seen too many films, but this shouldn't preclude me from surprise or wonder.
This film has little of either and the cliched use of the Virgin Mary was enough to make me scream . . . "Why?!?".
