Review of December Boys (2007) by Margaret Z — 10 Jan 2010
Not bad despite being a little slow and boring from time to time. Its the acting and characters that make this film interesting as its good to see Daniel Radcliffe in a different role from Harry Potter, as he plays Maps who is like a Father-figure to the other three younger 'December Boys'.
The supporting cast are also rather good, with the lead Lee Cormie standing out as well as Teresa Palmer who plays the seductive Lucy quite well. The storyline centers around the four 'December Boys' being taken from their orphanage to go on a holiday.
Its on this holiday that Misty's desire to be adopted comes to the surface, as well as Maps desire for a young woman, Lucy, who seduces him. Overall its quite good but it is slow moving and a little boring here and there but fans of the Harry Potter actor should take a look to see Daniel tackle a new type of role.
