Basically a story about 4 orphans who go on vacation where they meet a couple who want to adopt a child and other memorable characters; and how their lives are irrevocably changed by the experience. it's an adaptation of michael noonan's book of the same name, and while the story is simple, I found it touching. it's bittersweet throughout, without being overwhelming so, and I loved the ending.

The landscape is breathtaking in parts, especially when they show the expanses of barren outback. the soundtrack, [which I think is mostly by aussie bands] is quite nice as well.

Anyway, I don't think I should be THIS enamoured by dan. I feel like a 14 yr old fangirl, hee. the kid is hot. and surprisingly well-defined? yes, I feel like a cradle robber, eheh.

I was surprised I didn't think "oh look, harry potter's getting kissed" or "awwh harry's in short shorts!" which is a compliment to his acting. he's playing an orphan again, and the angst is there but he did a decent job, especially during the awkward moments with the chick. who btw is a skank. I mean, she's wearing the tiniest shorts the entire movie and is all "come hither" with her eyes and body. and the sex was ALL initiated by her.

And no, i'm not jealous.

Okay who am I kidding. she's hot and her legs go on for miles. and she's draped all over dan half the time.

Btw there's a lot more nudity in this movie than I expected, especially given that it's pre-teen/adolescent flick. but maybe that's australian movies for you, who knows?
