Review of D.E.B.S. (2005) by Mel V — 17 Jun 2005
Here's the deal....growing up gay and knowing you're gay at like 12 years old you spend your time SEARCHING to see yourself on the screen (closest I came was Bound in theaters, hardly akin to my blossoming teenager mentality, loved it all the same).
..I REALLY liked the movie because it was plainly a story about a woman loving another woman in a cheezy, cute, funny way...Oscar? No. Worth buying and watching again? Yes. Don't look for intellectual deep thought about the life of lesbians, but sometimes this is just what I'm looking for.
It was cute, simple, and sweet, and LESBIAN, nice for a change. My girlfriend asked me to show her lesbian movies with a happy ending, I didn't really have any (let alone just lesbian), but this hit the spot.
Nothing more, nothing less just fun. No action thriller, just a teens fantasy of what could be. I'm a little older now, but I can still enjoy and appreciate D.E.B.S., pirates are criminals too..
