Review of Deathwatch (2002) by Duncan H — 29 Sep 2007
A very deep movie which I'm not sure some of the reviewers panning it below have actually grasped..
Its not a particularly enjoyable movie to watch, but its a sledgehammer of an ending for those that want to think about what the film has been about...
Not light hearted, not a jump out of your seat horror, and not a war film. But nobody can deny this film the depth of its screenplay. I don't want to ruin the film for those that have not seen it, but for those that have given this film less than 3 stars, think about the concept of a higher power, judging humans to see if they have enough humanity left after the horrors of WW1 to merit being allowed to live and return to civilised society.. And once Charlie has escaped, the test/trial starts again.
