Review of Deathsport (1978) by Michael T — 21 Aug 2008
After DEATH RACE 2000 was a success, Corman followed up with this somewhat less entertaining film which features a bored David Carradine spouting New Age dialogue and sounding like his character in the TV series KUNG FU; Claudia Jennings struggles to keep her clothes on and spouts similarly lame dialogue; and Richard Lynch is the heavy instead of Sly Stallone (Richard is a great heavy but 'Machine Gun Joe' was such a great character in DEATH RACE).
Three directors (including Corman) but no Paul Bartel. Worth watching if you are into B-grade explotation flicks, the motorcycle stunts are convincing.
