Review of Death Wish (2018) by Imthenoob — 24 Apr 2018
As a fan of Eli Roth, I went into this movie with an open mind and was still disappointed. It pretty much is a flat out remake with no originality what so ever. The acting is laughably bad and Willis was an awful choice for a lead in this film. I'd have gone with someone else because he just doesn't have it anymore and his lack of facial expressions and emotions in general really make a disconnect between you and his character. And in a movie all about revenge, That's kind of the opposite of what you should be doing.
Another thing that irks me is this film's length and pace. It was way too long and way too slow. It takes 40 minutes before he even buys a gun, Let alone starts killing people and those kills are weirdly placed throughout the last hour of the film and does nothing to build up to this rather anti-climatic climax. This movie is predictable, poorly acted and poorly written. They should have kept this franchise on the shelf.
