Yet another movie that is universally panned by free movie ticket begging critics, yet overwhelmingly enjoyed by ticket buying audiences.
A long time ago, the role of the critic was to critique a movie...basically give a relatively impartial synopsis that the movie going public could use to get the best bang for its ticket buying buck.
Somewhere down the line...that relative impartiality and service to the public went away, and was replaced with pretentious thesaurus gleened tripe, intended to impress fellow critics. In other words, they feel their duty is to criticize...to pick apart a movie...with the intention of sucking up to those they consider worthy enough to be their peers.
Your best bet is to ignore those sanctimonious blowhards and put your trust in people who actually pay for tickets. They have nothing to gain or lose by giving an honest opinion.
