Review of Death Wish (1974) by Joel S — 26 Mar 2008
The Original Vigilante. Watching Death Wish it is easy to tell where other movies such as The Brave One and Death Sentence got there inspiration from. There is even a scene in where Charles Bronson is on the train at night waiting for someone to mug him.
The Brave One used this exact scene. The main difference with Death Wish is that the violence is not over done like in more recent movies of this nature. It's quick but powerful without the need for hard core blood shed.
There is a sense of realism that you can believe that this could and may have happen.
