Review of Death Wish (1974) by Curtis H — 25 Nov 2008
Excuse the alliteration you are about to observe. Before Batman or Boondocks, there was Bronson. Death Wish is a slow, ponderous and altogether awesome look at vigilante justice, one of the first of its kind.
It works well by working through a man with very little to live for, and a lot of justice to gain. The movie has very few words, and has a great deal of meaning even so. Its amazing how the middle aged Bronson can be such a badass so much of the time, but such is the amazing story of Death Wish.
