Review of Death Wish (1974) by William B — 17 Jan 2010
One thing i've noticed in old films, is that the soundtrack is just so good, it has taken me a while to realise but compared to nowadays, when it's usual just songs, the soundtracks in old films are really so good.
One of the earliest forms of the man pushed-over-the-edge-and-goes-vigilante films, is a stunner. Bronson has taken Eastwood's Man With No Name and put him on the streets of new york to clean up the streets.
The films keeps building up with tension for whether Paul Kersey will get caught by the police or not, and the ending was certainly decent and well done.
I can see were Rourke and Trejo got their inspiration from, Death Wish is definatly one to see if you like to see how films have progressed through the years.
5/5.
