Review of Death Wish (1974) by Jimmy N — 13 Sep 2011
Charles Bronson stars as the complacent architect-turned-vigilante in this notoriously violent crime thriller. The film is both simplistic and predictable, yet its accessible revenge plot remains effective and its striking exploitation of vigilantism makes for an engaging viewing experience.
Gritty, well-shot and excessively violent, Michael Winner's solid revenge thriller is memorable, remarkably entertaining and definitely worth watching.
