The blurb says it all - an unknown time, and unknown place, without a reason... who knows why this film was made, but I for one am glad they did. Running along a similar slant to Versus - Tak sets up a one-man crusade against the Universe for reasons undisclosed and manages to expose rather more bodyparts than the average mercenary in the process.

And just why not, eh! Stellar fighting scenes, and a surprisingly minimal amount of gore set this film apart from other Zeros productions, but this is also part of its magic - proving that no, you don't need to hack them all to pieces to get rid of them.

There are many other ways of dealing with assailants without even getting blood on your arsenal... and hats off to a film that managed to put motorbikes and rocket launchers in what would otherwise be a period samurai film.
