The spiritual successor to Versus certainly has the insanity, style, and randomness of it's inspiration, only it also has a bigger budget and Steven Seagal's son! That reminds me, Jean Claude Van Damme needs to bear an heir or three.
Watching ninja tear through the forest while Dir en Grey blasts in the background and the best breakdance fighting since Zoolander is pretty great. However, it didn't really captivate as much as Versus and I was left wondering if the movie would've been better if Kitamura had directed it.
