Review of Death to Smoochy (2002) by Rajneel S — 13 Sep 2008
A very, VERY, dark comic take on children's television programming and a not-so-subtle parody on "Barney The Dinosaur" is very hit and miss, sporting a great performance by Ed Norton contrasted against Robin Williams who flounders with his usual manic, catch-phrase schtick.
DeVito's directing whips this great concept piece into a film that's too disjointed, too slapstick and too dark without poking enough fun at children's television than it should. Not great.
