Review of Death to Smoochy (2002) by Ur_Dean I — 16 Aug 2009
Dark comedy and Danny DeVito is a combination that has always worked. While praise can be given to DeVito for the style (with its musical numbers, flashy sets and spot-on lighting), it is really Robin Williams' psychotic song and dance man which gives the story all the momentum.
His interpretation of Rainbow Randolph propels the plot forward into a bizarre and shady world of the mafia, children's programming and film noir.
