Review of Death Sentence (2007) by John C — 02 Sep 2010
Although definitely no Stir Of Echoes, Death Sentence wasn't too bad a performance by Kevin Bacon, he almost managed to pull off the vigilante attitude well.
Nick Hume, played by Kevin, is out with his oldest son when a gang initiation leaves his son dead. Seeking revenge, he manages to kill the person who did it however starts an all our war against the oldest brother of said murderer, who's the real honcho in charge and who is now playing for keeps and wants revenge himself.
At almost right at two hours, I did find the movie a bit long for the story, and the whole father/son thing with John Goodman was, in my opinion, unnecessary and took away from the story. Beyond that though, this was a decent movie, having decent scenes if not a good soundtrack.
