Review of Death Sentence (2007) by Rich R — 15 Oct 2009
This is one of the more powerful movies out there. A realistic portrayal of BRUTAL violence and dark revenge is brought out nicely, despite a few bouts of bad acting (thank you female detective) and some unrealistic details of plot. If you immerse yourself into the concept of losing a life, you can really get emotionally tied up in this one. It's almost too dark, as the story leaves you feeling hopeless. Bacon is turning into a young Eastwood with his badassness splashed with an aged sense of spite. Difference: Bacon is a stone cold murderer.
Some movies try too much clean fighting and weird russian plotlines [babylon ad, name ur james bond flick]. Some rely on pure violence [saw]. This one finally struck the ultimate balance.
