Review of Death Sentence (1968) by Paul P — 29 Aug 2010
A standard revenge thriller that benefits hugely from the Bacon...
The story itself is nothing original, nor are the bad guys who are nothing more than cardboard cutouts and essentially cannon fodder. Whilst this is the case, they are sleazily watchable.
Bacon takes up the mantle of wronged family man and delivers a great performance as he sets about taking out the scum who tore his life apart. Whilst his character is not particualrly memorable (mostly down to the writers) he always convinces (as always).
A watchable film that lacks originality but still delivers for the most part.
