Review of Death Sentence (1968) by Dave M — 06 Feb 2013
Possibly one of the funniest movies I have seen lately that wasn't intended as a comedy. This movie should appeal more to people that like video games, that's the feel to it. Slow scenes of men creeping around an abandoned hospital, guns at the ready to blow people away, tense scenes in a multi storey car park that ends with a car flying off the top level, it's a lot of eye candy, shooting guns, hard death stares, and grittiness.
It's over the top, corny and cliche to the point of it being embarrassing, but it's fun and that's what this movie is all about, a little bit of fun. Bacon was pretty good in this role, from the heartbroken to the revengeful father he was on the whole the saving grace of this movie for me.
If you're going to watch this you have to leave all sense of reality and believability at home, this movie is so impossibly ridiculous. On a side note, I find it funny how people can't aim guns in this film.
They have these massive weapons and they don't know how to use them properly. Their target is right in front of them and instead of shooting him they end up making giant holes in the walls and roof, amazing :).
