Review of Death Race (2008) by Tommy M — 09 Jan 2012
As formulaic as Hollywood action films get. The script is predictable and makes sure to include cliches at every turn. Every line of dialogue is a catch phrase or generic one-liner. The love interest is an awful actress.
Paul W.S. Anderson overdirects - Death Race feels like a music video. The cinematography is all over the place. I have to admit, the cars are really cool. There are also a few stylish images amongst the thousands - every scene is covered by seemingly infinite cameras.
It must've been a nightmare to edit.
