Review of Death Race (2008) by Mohammed H — 15 Nov 2010
Having never seen the Roger Corman version, I went in watching Death Race expecting something honestly bad. To my surprise though I thought Death Race was a surprisingly entertaining film. The title stars Jason Statham who is a wrongly convicted factory worker sent to prison where he is forced to race to the very death.
The film's story wasn't that great, but what made up for it was the action sequences and stunts. For the budget the film was set at, the stunt work and whatnot were pretty acceptable especially coming from director Paul WS Anderson who's past work were Resident Evil,Mortal Kombat,Soldier and Aliens vs Predator just to name a very few.
For the effort he put out on this film I was quite impressed and to anyone who hasn't seen Death Race should check it out if they find it on TV or can rent it for the weekend.
