Review of Death Race 2000 (1975) by Cullen M — 04 Mar 2008
Classic Roger Corman B-Movie. Mixes elements of the original Batman series with Fahrenheit 451. Though Sylvester Stallone gets top billing, and he is in top lunkheaded douchebag form (i.e. Stallone at his Stalloniest), David Carradine (of Kung Fu and Kill Bill fame) has the lead role.
Its clear that Tarantino was heavily influenced by this movie, but whereas as Death Proof had all the resources it needed at its disposal and was so bad it was shit, this is genuine low budg fun that's so bad that its great.
They even manage to fit in the greatest pun in film history (you'll know it when you see it). There's probably a great drinking game to be found here.
