Review of Death Race 2000 (1975) by Greg T — 20 Apr 2008
The inspiration for Mad Max would later be surpassed by its successor but that doesn't stop it from being a lot of fun on its own. While the exploitation and sensationalism is almost as blatant as in its "coming attractions," the movie succeeds in providing an appropriate satire on the American media and the shamelessness of our news coverage among other things.
DR2K isn't for everyone. Also it's just plain fun to watch to enjoy the insanity of it all.
