An incredibly uneven film for Tarantino, mixing moments of captivating dialogue and well-shot action with moments of absolute boredom. His goal was to recreate the grindhouse experience of his youth, but the intentional editing flubs grew tiresome and nothing is more dull than an unshared nostalgia.
