Review of Death Proof (2007) by Wesley W — 14 Dec 2013
The first time reviewing this I felt that I was too harsh on it and this time I can see more redeeming qualities coming from this movie but not that many. I still think this film drags and drags you at parts with it's poorly written boring dialogue and uninteresting characters.
Those things would usually be big positives on a Quentin Tarantino film, but not here. In my opinion, it seemed like Quentin Tarantino took a vacation with this movie and he didn't have his A game on here because there are no great fantastic lines here like there were on Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, and Reservoir Dogs.
Also his other movies had some sort of a story and this one didn't have any. The characters here annoyed the hell out of me and they weren't interesting in the least. The only contributing factors this movie had was Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike, I thought he was entertaining and he had fun with his character, he was the only person I rooted for throughout the whole thing.
There was a fantastic car scene in the middle of the movie that was very grusome and very exciting to watch and there was an entertaining chase towards the end. Bottam line, this ended up being a colossal disappointment from Mr.
Quentin Tarantino. I read an article saying that Quentin Tarantino said that this movie was his worst film ever and I couldn't agree more with his statement on that.
