Review of Death Proof (2007) by Brett C — 13 Jan 2014
QT's weakest effort yet, and perhaps his most creepily sadistic. Far too much bar-babe conversation, far too little actually story momentum. But it's still fiercely original and oddly compulsive, because beneath all of the crappy over-indulgent dialogue, there's a simmering tension that escalates in the third act.
And Like all QT's, I couldn't really look away - in any act. But the final 20 or so minutes features some of the best stuntdriving - and stuntwork overall - since Hooper went out of business.
