Review of Death of a President (2006) by Willy B — 17 Jun 2007
Clever and beyond cynical, this film confirms that the hawks in the Bush administration have not yet suppressed freedom of expression, and in fact is testament to the protected idea of free speech in America in 2006.
In another time, not so long ago, certainly in your Mom's lifetime, had the same move been made about a sitting president, the filmmakers would undoubtedly be in jail, and the film would have caused a scandal beyond belief.
Isn't it odd that a fake film about assassinating a sitting president actually embodies the spirit of America's right to freedom of speech?
