Review of Death of a President (2006) by Chris H — 08 Jul 2007
Interesting and controversial concept in this mock documentary about the assassinaton of our president, George W. Bush. Although the concept is quite believeable, and the topics covered are those I would expect to see if this scenario actually occured, some situations (especially that of violent protesters escaping riot police and secret service unnoticed), seemed quite unrealistic.
I also disagree with the portrayal of our president as an American hero in the year 2007, as his approval ratings are at an absolutely stunning low currently. I did, however, see its perception of dick cheney, and his role as the new president of the united states, as well as his agendas, quite accurate should this ever occur.
Overall, this film had a very brave concept, yet was lacking throughout. If you follow politics, give this one a watch, and form your own opinion on the story.
