Review of Death of a President (2006) by Adrian Morgan L — 07 Dec 2006
Gripping "mockumentary" (but not played for laughs) about the fictional assassination of President George W. Bush, and the resulting government witchhunt. This film has a lot to say about the practices of racial profiling and the American populace's increasing dissatisfaction with its "leader," but Bush is not played merely as a buffoon; I actually found myself feeling more sympathy for him than I've ever felt before.
(It still doesn't make me support the war in Iraq, but that's a whole other rant.) I found this movie fascinating from start to finish, and recommend it to anyone with more than a passing interest in American politics.
I'm surprised so many of my fellow Cinemaslaves were disappointed by it.
