Review of Death of a President (2006) by Candice H — 03 Aug 2007
Aside from fueling anti-Presidential sentiments, what were the redeeming qualities of this film? It looked and felt cheap (think underfunded indie film... underfunded and under-inspired; it's a mockumentary, but doesn't consistently watch as one).
From a forward-looking perspective, when the current administration is replaced next year, will viewers even care that this piece was made? Hurling criticism at this piece is almost pointless; the concept just doesn't come off as fully-planned out and the execution suffers.
The script isn't that suspenseful, the acting lacks, the 'chaos' scenes are inexcuseably weak... there just isn't much to like about this film (no matter how much one might want to love it based on the fantasy it paints).
